Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981
The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 requires that adequate first aid provision, equipment and facilities are available. What constitutes ‘adequate’ is determined by your business type, size and nature of your work. You may also need to consider; remote and lone workers, shift working patterns and provision for non-employees (i.e. general public).

First Aider training
There are so many first aid courses available it is important to find one which is accredited and run by a professional health and safety company. The type and level of first aid training required will vary according to your business requirements. Generally for a low risk, sedentary workplace a level 3 First Aid at Work course will be appropriate however it may be that paediatric first aid or activity first aid training is required.
